CBD has a distinct taste, which not everyone can get on board with. Here, Provacan explores the benefits to taking it in capsule form.

Have you ever wondered why CBD oil tastes or smells different every time you use it? For those of you using CBD oil rather than cannabidiol oil capsules the question often arises – and we have the answer.

After using a product for some time, you replace it when it runs out – but the new product doesn’t seem the same.

There’s no need to worry, though. It’s not like your favourite shampoo that changes formulas and becomes less effective.
The fact that CBD oil sometimes tastes different every time is a good thing.

And here is why: there can be variances in the appearance, taste, and smell of CBD oil because it is a natural product.

Our CBD is derived from organically grown hemp that does not contain any GMOs or pesticides, variations are inevitable. Different harvests produce very different products, so it’s extremely difficult to create them exactly alike.

Moreover, full-spectrum CBD oil is an extremely complex product. The unique combination of terpenes and cannabinoids in each bottle produces the benefits we all know and love, along with its unique taste.

At Provacan, we are constantly striving to make our formulations even better through extensive research and testing. Our products contain lab reports showing the exact cannabinoid content for each tincture, so you can rest assured that even though your oil tastes different, the product still has the same cannabinoid levels per each batch.

And you can always opt for cannabidiol oil capsules if you prefer a tasteless CBD experience.

Is there a reason why CBD oil tastes the way it does?

There is no distinct taste or smell to a cannabinoid like CBD or THC. This is mainly due to terpenes.

Terpenes are natural occurring compounds abundant in hemp and other plants and fruits. Whenever you smell lemon or eucalyptus, you can thank terpenes.

Another reason why CBD oil can taste different is because of the carrier oil. Different oils are used in different products. Polyphenols (antioxidants) in olive oil give it a distinct, earthy flavour similar to CBD oil.

Most oils contain these chemicals, which naturally affect the potency and strength of the flavour. And also like CBD oil, olive oil can taste different in different batches depending on the season, the type of olives used and the region it was grown in.

Carrier oils assist CBD in being absorbed by the body by dissolving the molecules of the cannabinoid. As a carrier oil, olive oil is probably most familiar to you. There is no doubt that it is the most researched. Because of its many well-established health benefits, it has become one of the most commonly used cooking oils. Pros: High in iron, vitamin K, vitamin E, rich in antioxidants.

Is CBD oil supposed to be bitter?

A bitter taste is often associated with CBD oil and other natural products due to chlorophyll – the green pigment responsible for photosynthesis in plants.

Darker products contain more chlorophyll and are bitter. Furthermore, if the CBD oil uses olive oil as a carrier oil it will also contribute to a more bitter taste.

What should good CBD oil taste like?

Ok, so now that you understand why CBD oil tasted the way it does, we can sum up that the stronger and more potent the taste and smells results from a CBD oil that is full of natural terpenes and ingredients. When you have more natural ingredients working together from the hemp plant, the entourage effect has more ingredients to act on.

How do you make CBD oil less bitter?

The taste isn’t for everyone. Most users tolerate the ‘earthy’ taste for the minute or two it lies under your tongue, but if that’s too much, you could try the following methods:

– Mixing it with food or drink

You can always add your CBD to your favourite drink such as your morning coffee, smoothie or tea. You can also simply add a few drops to your food.

– Try cannabidiol oil capsules or gummies

Provacan offers a range of CBD capsules in different strengths. This allows you to enjoy CBD without the putent taste of the terpenes and cannabinoids while still receiving the excellent quality that Provacan offers. It is important to keep in mind that when you digest CBD, it takes longer to reach your bloodstream than when you take it sublingually.

In order to ensure the highest quality, Provacan’s CBD oil is derived from organic, GMO-free hemp grown here in the EU. Furthermore.
