Jessen, who will be speaking at the trade show alongside 50 industry experts and influencers, has “strong opinions” about CBD and will offer a “voice of reason,” organisers say.

The TV presenter and doctor says: “CBD seems to be popping up everywhere. As a ‘wellness’ product there are some quite frankly outrageous claims being made.

“I am aware that the various components of cannabis may have some benefits, but more detailed research is needed.”

The show, at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), has increased its capacity on last year, with organisers extending the hall size by 30 per cent.

Over 8000 people are expected to extend, with around 150 exhibitors registered for the event.

There will be 50 speakers sharing their expertise, and numerous panel discussions aimed at educating and informing delegates.

Among the speakers is Dr Dani Gordon, a Canadian doctor now practising in the UK with a  specialism in cannabis medicine.

Meanwhile, Dan Herer, son of author ‘emperor of hemp’ Jack Herer, will be speaking about his foundation and its desire to educate people about the benefits of hemp.

Industry trade bodies such as the Cannabis Trade Association UK, CannaPro, European Hemp Industry Association and the British Hemp Association are also represented.

The show will host a ‘Hemp & CBD’ awards evening on the Saturday evening to celebrate the industry’s leading lights.

The show takes place on the weekend of September 14-15. Tickets are available here: https://www.hempandcbdexpo.co.uk.
