Grünhorn Executive to Discuss Germany’s Medical Cannabis Market at Frankfurt Symposium
A senior figure behind one of Germany’s medical cannabis telemedicine platforms has been announced as a speaker at an event hosted by Cannabis Health later this year.
Tobias Bosse, chief commercial officer of Grünhorn Group, will join the Cannabis Health Symposium Frankfurt at Mainhaus on 4 November.
Bosse has been involved in building and scaling CanDoc, Grünhorn’s telemedicine platform, since 2024 and now oversees revenue, e-commerce, marketing and internationalisation across the group.
He will present The State of the German Medical Cannabis Market, examining changes in patient demand, international supply, competition and pricing since Germany’s cannabis reforms came into force in April 2024.
Bosse will also join a debate on the role of telemedicine in medical cannabis, amid ongoing discussion around patient access and prescribing standards.
“Banning telemedicine doesn’t solve anything,” he said.
“It just pushes patients back to the black market. Proportionate quality standards are the better path to both patient safety and access to therapy.”
Who is Tobias Bosse?
Before entering the medical cannabis sector, Bosse led international marketing and e-commerce at Dermaroller, where he managed multicultural teams and worked on the brand’s growth across international markets.
He began his career in journalism and content and has also founded ventures in digital media and sustainable fashion.
At Grünhorn, his work now spans its mail-order pharmacy, CanDoc and medical cannabis wholesale business canymed, covering different stages of the patient and supply journey.
Germany’s Changing Medical Cannabis Market
Germany’s medical cannabis market has changed significantly since reforms came into force in April 2024, when medical cannabis was removed from the country’s narcotics law and brought under the separate Medical Cannabis Act.
Bosse’s presentation will examine how those changes have affected the market, while his appearance in the telemedicine debate will focus on the balance between patient access and appropriate standards of care.
The subject comes as Germany continues to debate tighter rules around the prescribing of medical cannabis through telemedicine. The federal government has proposed changes including requiring an in-person consultation before cannabis flower can initially be prescribed.
