Sita Schubert to Discuss Evidence Behind Cannabis Policy at Frankfurt Symposium

The European Medicinal Cannabis Association’s general secretary will join a debate on how research informs cannabis policy in less than two weeks time.

What evidence should guide decisions about medical cannabis will be debated at the Cannabis Health Symposium in Frankfurt next month.

Sita Schubert, general secretary of the European Medicinal Cannabis Association (EUMCA), will speak at the one-day event on 4 November.

In a statement, she described the symposium as a platform for discussing “the latest medical regulations, patients’ rights and clinical innovations”.

She will join the session Evidence or Ideology? Making Cannabis Policy Without Data, examining who decides what counts as sufficient evidence and what doctors should rely on while gaps in research remain.

Schubert will speak alongside Professor Bernd Werse, former Frankfurt drugs department head Dr Artur Schrörs and Copeia co-founder Garvin Hirt.

A lawyer with experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Schubert is a founding member of EUMCA and has worked in the medical cannabis sector since 2016.

The symposium takes place at Mainhaus, Frankfurt, on 4 November.
