How governments make cannabis policy when gaps in research remain will be debated at the Cannabis Health Symposium in Frankfurt next month.
Professor Bernd Werse, a sociologist and professor of social work at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, will speak at the one-day event on 4 November.
His research covers drug trends, cannabis policy, cultivation and illicit drug markets.
Werse will join the Evidence or Ideology? Making Cannabis Policy Without Data session.
He will speak alongside European Medicinal Cannabis Association general secretary Sita Schubert, former Frankfurt drugs department head Dr Artur Schrörs and Copeia co-founder Garvin Hirt.
Werse is also a board member of the European Society for Social Drug Research and the German drug policy network Schildower Kreis.
The symposium takes place at Mainhaus, Frankfurt, on 4 November.
