Leading minds in cannabis and psychedelics gather for GCI Summit

More more than 1,000 industry leaders will attend the annual GCI Summit

The leading virtual conference for the global cannabis and psychedelics industries, is returning with an all-star line-up of business, policy, medicine and science experts.

Discussing the most pertinent issues facing these industries, in thought leadership sessions across seven virtual conferences, the annual GCI Summit returns from 8-9 June 2021.

Bringing together more than 1,000 industry leaders from across the globe, the virtual summit hosts over 50 debates, analysing global industry trends and identifying new opportunities in cannabis and psychedelics.

This year, speakers include cannabis research pioneers such as Dr Ethan Russo,  Dr Dedi Meiri, who will discuss how cannabinoid breakthroughs are shaping the future of therapy, and president of the Colombian Medical Cannabis Association, Dr Sandra Carrillo

Political leaders from both sides of the pond, Conservative MP and Chairman of Conservative Drug Policy Reform Group (CDPRG), Crispin Blunt, Assistant Counsel to NY State Governor Cuomo, Axel Bernabe, and the director of Cannabis for the ‎Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Holly Bell will explore education in business and policy.

Senior Reporter at Insider, Jeremy Berke will host a debate on the changing face of drug policy in the U.S. and the role of social equity, with Natalie Papillion from the Last Prisoner Project and Michael Minardi of the National NORML Legal Committee.

And five times NBA All-Star, Chris Webber will be joined by the Chairman of TerrAscend and President & Chief Investment Officer of JW Asset Management, Jason Wild to discuss their socially conscious private equity fund.

As things heat up in the psychedelics sector Bruce Linton, serial cannabis and psychedelics founder, will be joined by Mitchell Baruchowitz, managing partner at Merida Capital Holdings and Narbé Alexandrian, president and CEO of RIV Capital will be analysing key considerations for investing in cannabis and psychedelics in 2021.

Making meaningful connections is paramount to the development of these industries, say the event’s organisers, and attendees will have the opportunity to forge relationships and collaborate with leaders from pharma, investment and finance, science and medicine, cultivation and agriculture, brands and retail and beyond.
