Bloomwell Co-Founder to Join Frankfurt Debate on Online Cannabis Prescribing

Dr Julian Wichmann will discuss patient assessments, follow-up care and responsibility for treatment.

The co-founder of a German medical cannabis company will join a debate on online prescribing at the Cannabis Health Symposium in Frankfurt next week.

Dr Julian Wichmann, a physician and co-founder of Bloomwell, will discuss telemedicine at the one-day event, examining how patients are assessed and supported remotely.

Ahead of the event, he argued that Germany’s political debate too often takes place “without the physicians who actually treat patients, without the people who make these therapies possible, and without the patients themselves”.

Wichmann said Bloomwell had surveyed medical cannabis patients quarterly since 2024 to bring their experiences into the discussion.

The panel will examine when remote consultations meet patients’ needs, how follow-up care should work and who takes responsibility when consultations and dispensing involve different organisations.

He will speak alongside Bertan Türemis, Dr Christiane Neubaur and Tobias Bosse.

Before co-founding Bloomwell in 2020, Wichmann worked as a radiologist and emergency physician.

The symposium takes place at Mainhaus, Frankfurt, on 4 November.
