Sarah Sinclair is an award-winning freelance journalist covering health, drug policy and social affairs. She is one of the few UK reporters specialising in medical cannabis policy and as the former editor of Cannabis Health has covered developments in the European cannabis sector extensively, with a focus on patients and consumers. She continues to report on cannabis-related health and policy for Forbes, Cannabis Health and Business of Cannabis and has written for The i Paper, Byline Times, The Lead, Positive News, Leafie & others. Sarah has an NCTJ accreditation and an MA in Journalism from the University of Sunderland and has completed additional specialist training through the Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society in the UK. She has spoken at leading industry events such as Cannabis Europa.
Prof Mike Barnes

Professor Mike Barnes is the UK's leading authority on medical cannabis. A consultant neurologist with more than 20 years' experience in cannabis medicine, he was the first doctor in the UK to secure a government-issued prescription for medical cannabis — in the landmark case of Alfie Dingley. Professor Barnes played a pivotal role in shaping the UK's approach to medical cannabis policy and education. His evidence-based report for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Drug Policy Reform in 2016 was instrumental in paving the way for the legalisation of cannabis-based medicinal products in 2018. He was also part of the early development of Sativex, the first licensed cannabis-based medicine in the UK, and continues to advise clinicians, regulators, and policymakers across Europe. As Chair of the Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society and Founder and President of the Cannabis Industry Council, Professor Barnes is committed to ensuring safe, ethical, and accessible prescribing. He leads the Society's education, training, and Good Practice initiatives, equipping doctors and healthcare professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and clinical standards required to prescribe responsibly.
