CBD: The difference between gummies, oil and capsules

Not sure which method is right for you? Experts at Potyque CBD explain the difference between difference between gummies, oil and capsules.

When it comes to getting your daily dose of CBD we’re a big fan of oils, but they’re not the only way you can utilise the premium plant power of CBD.

The market continues to grow and with it, the range of CBD products. Some of the most common you’ll find on the shelves are gummies, capsules and of course, oils. However, with so many options to choose from, which one is the best? And what are the differences you need to be aware of when making that all-important decision?

CBD gummies

When you were a kid you may have been encouraged to take a daily multi-vitamin disguised as a deliciously sweet gummy treat, well the same goes for modern CBD gummies. They take on the same form as our favourite gummy snacks but with an extra bonus of your CBD dose.

Some of the pros of getting your CBD dosage this way is that it’s super easy to measure out your dosage and you can grab them on the go. Something to be aware of though is that gummies are not currently as well researched or monitored as that of the CBD oil market, so it’s easy for some brands to make inconsistent gummies, meaning you may not get the exact dosage you think with each pack or even each gummy.

CBD capsules

A good halfway point between CBD gummies and oils are the capsules. With the capsules, you’ll get a more traditional looking supplement, usually encased in a hard shell that needs to be taken with water. It means you get the convenience of the gummies but a more controlled dosage with each capsule.

The strength for CBD capsules should be clearly labelled on the packet and show you just how much CBD you get in each capsule, rather than an estimate per pack like you may find with CBD gummies.

CBD oil

We then come to the most common and popular form of CBD, the oil. One of the main reasons we love CBD oil so much compared to the other forms is its versatility. Although the novelty and convenience of taking a daily capsule or chewing on a tasty gummy may seem more appealing, CBD oil offers you a plethora of ways to get your daily dose.

Not only do CBD oils give you complete control over your dosage and make it easier to scale up or decrease your dosage, but they also allow you to get your CBD in a variety of forms, from a few drops in your morning coffee to simply popping under the tongue during your morning routine.

Which one should you choose?

Now we’ve had a look at all the options, how do we decide on which one to opt for? Well, the main answer is to start with your needs. Are you looking to simply try out CBD products when you feel like you need them? In which case gummies may be best for you, to give you a small dose of CBD when and where you feel you need it. If you already know exactly how much CBD you want to take daily and you’re looking for something quick and easy, then capsules may be the way to go.

For those that want full control over the dosage and want the ability to customise their CBD routine and journey overall, CBD oils are the perfect solution. Just remember to double-check the ingredients and the certificates, making sure you’re getting the most premium CBD oil for optimal results!
