Zerenia Clinic UK cuts prices to tackle cost-barriers to access

Zerenia Clinics has announced a reduction in clinic fees to help tackle cost-barriers to accessing medical cannabis in the UK.

As the winter nights draw in, UK households are bracing themselves for more uncertainty and rumblings of a recession. 

Acknowledging the impact of this on people’s finances and health, Zerenia Clinics UK has decided to do more to reduce prices to help UK households struggling with rising inflation.

A recent survey conducted by the Zerenia™ Clinics UK team, revealed that 100 per cent of patients prescribed medical cannabis for mental health or chronic pain conditions had experienced an improvement in quality of life*. 

In response to these results and as part of its global commitment to increasing access, Zerenia™ Clinics UK is reducing the cost of its clinic fees. 

Effective from 1 October, 2022, follow up appointment fees will be reduced from £60 to £45 and the admin fee for repeat prescriptions will be reduced from £25 to £15, saving patients up to £165 per year.

Freeda Solliman, operations director of Zerenia Clinics UK, said she hoped it would help existing patients to continue their treatment, and also open up access for those who could benefit.

She commented: “We understand the impact of inflation and the looming recession has not only on our patients’ pockets, but also their health. 

“In the UK, the average cost to see a Specialist Consultant privately averages £250 for a 30-minute appointment, we have been offering them at almost a third of the cost.

“However, we want to do more for our patients and reduce some of the worry around affordability of their treatment. Furthermore, with the current NHS waiting list sitting at up to nine months to see a Pain Specialist, we want to offer patients a cost-effective way to receive care in a timely manner.”
