Seth Rogan has announced this week that he will be launching his cannabis and homeware brand, Houseplant, in the US.

The comedian, writer, producer and actor, known for the hit comedies Superbad, Pineapple Express and Knocked Up, announced via his Twitter page that he will be bringing his cannabis brand, Houseplant, to the US market.

Rogan says he has been working on the company for the past ten years.

“If you know anything about me at all, I’m going to assume it’s that I really love weed,” Rogan said, addressing his fans via Twitter.

“But what you probably don’t know about me is that I’ve been working on my own weed company for the past 10 years.”

Based in Canada, Houseplant is working with Canopy Growth Corporation to bring Rogan’s favourite sativa, indica and hybrid strains to the US market.

Already selling its products across the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Quebec, and Saskatchewan, Rogan has said that the aim of Houseplant is to provide the highest quality product possible as well as help consumers understand cannabis on a deeper level.

“What we’re doing is bringing you the best strains of weed that have been hand-picked, and by that, I mean hand smoked by me,” Rogan continued.

Teaming up with fellow Canadian and frequent collaborator, Evan Goldberg, Rogan will also be selling homeware such as table ashtrays, lighters and ceramics.

Rogan said: “This is just the beginning. This is honestly my life’s work, and I’ve never been more excited about anything.”

In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Rogan said he was consuming a “truly ungodly amount of weed” and had taken up ceramics during the pandemic.

“This has been fine. I am built for this. I’ve kind of been self-isolating since 2009,” he told Jimmy Kimmel.

“So many of our friends wanted to do pottery, we got a literal third wheel, me and my wife. We have a kiln; we found a place that will deliver clay in this time of quarantine.”
