Recipe: Soothing green smoothie with CBD oil
A nutritious smoothie is a great way to get your daily dose of CBD.

Nutritionists at Vitaminology have created a recipe for a super soothing smoothie, which makes a great way to get your daily dose of CBD.

This green smoothie is a tasty way to incorporate a little stress-busting CBD oil into your diet. It also contains low-sugar fruit together with leafy green salad vegetables for an easy vitamin, mineral and antioxidant boost.

Ingredients

  • Green leaves: 1 handful of watercress or other lettuce
  • Fruit: 1 handful of local and seasonal fruit such as apples, pears or berries.
  • Liquid: ¼ litre coconut water, coconut milk, plain yoghurt or your preferred unsweetened milk.
  • CBD oil tincture (refer to dose on manufacturer’s label, or as recommended by your practitioner)
  • For an extra flavour and antioxidant boost: 2 teaspoons of berry powder such as acai or haskap berry.
  • For extra immune support: 2 slices ginger, peeled and chopped or grated

Method

  1. Blend ingredients together in a blender.
  2. Taste for sweetness and add more fruit or berry powder if needed – the healthiest smoothie in the world is no use if you don’t like it!

Tips

  • Frozen berries work well when fresh berries are not in season, but take care to drink your smoothie slowly so that it warms up a little in your mouth – this is gentler for your stomach. Actively chewing your smoothie is even better for gut health.
  • If your smoothie is very runny, consider adding a teaspoon of nut butter or a tablespoon of unsalted nuts and seeds.

It is important to check with your doctor before taking CBD oil to make sure that it’s right for you and that you are dosing safely.
