HOWL, the UK's first CBD anal lube

The UK’s first CBD anal lube is launching this month, but how does it work?

Queer-founded sex-positive brand HOWL launches in the UK this December, with a range of CBD anal lubricants for all genders and sexualities.

Early scientific research has investigated the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects of CBD on the body.

Those potential properties could help relax muscles in the body whilst increasing pleasure to enhance anal sex.

The first of its kind in the country, HOWL launches with two products, a 150ml water-based and 100ml silicone-based cannabidiol lubricants.

With heterosexual anal intercourse on the rise and search trends for pegging/strap-on porn booming worldwide – the brand seeks to break down the tabboos of anal play, whilst also serving this meteoric rise of heterosexual anal sex.

Founder, 29-year-old London-born Samuel Douek – a former architect turned filmmaker – was listed as one of the British Fashion Council’s New Wave Creatives.

His previous work as a director has helped global brands align with LGBTQ+ communities, including Uber, Absolut and creating a mini web-series for Grindr.

Commenting on the launch of the brand and new product line Samuel said: “For me, Queerness is the belief that freedom is collective, not individual. This ethos is inherent in our company and guides the principles of our manifesto. This is a brand created by the community for the community and beyond.”

Whilst the brand is made by the LGBTQ+ community for the LGBTQ+ community, it is also aimed at all sexualities, genders, races, religions, creeds, shapes and sizes.

They have partnered with UK Black Pride – Europe’s largest celebration for African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean-heritage LGBTQ people – donating 50p of every bottle sold to the charity.

The brand launches with two SKUs, 150ml water-based and 100ml silicone-based lubricants available for £16 each, alongside the “Xmas Lockdown Love Kit” for £35 which includes a duo pack of their CBD anal lubes plus a butt-plug keyring, HOWL bandana and a printed limited edition copy of their community-based magazine, HOWL ZINE.

The HOWL ZINE features an interview and intimacy mix by NTS presenter and DJ Sippin’ T from South London queer DJ collective BBZ and a poem by multidisciplinary writer Otamere Guobadia.
