Cannabotech has reported positive results from a study of its CBD and mushroom-blend products in treating psoriasis.

A study carried out by Cannabotech has found that its range of ‘Nurture’ products effectively treat psoriasis symptoms, the company says.

Cannabotech is a biomedical company which develops preventative solutions using CBD and functional mushrooms.

The study, conducted by the research company, Ayton Global Research, tested the products on 120 volunteers who had been diagnosed with psoriasis in late July 2022.

The “Nurture” products combine pharmaceutical-grade CBD with a blend of functional mushrooms (reishi, lion’s mane and cordyceps) to help promote the healthy functioning of the skin.

Psoriasis is a long-term skin condition that causes flaky patches of skin which form scales, affecting around 2 in 100 people in the UK.

While the severity of psoriasis varies from person to person, it can cause itchy and sore patches, having a significant impact on quality of life. For some with the condition.

Participants in the study were aged 25-75 years and applied the products three times a day for four weeks.

One group of 60 volunteers applied Nurture cream only, while the other group applied Nurture cream and Nurture nutritional supplement, and were asked to fill out a questionnaire to assess their satisfaction with the products.

According to a press release from the company, 94.5 per cent of respondents reported that their skin’s redness appears to be reduced, 90.7 per cent said their skin feels less irritated and 92.6 per cent reported their psoriasis feeling less painful.

A total of 91 per cent of respondents reported their skin’s appearance has improved.

While CBD is known to interact with the endocannabinoid system for homeostasis in the body, the mushrooms work to restore elasticity to the skin and reduce inflammation and redness.

A total of 88.9 per cent of respondents said they would recommend this product to a friend or family member, and 80 per cent said they would purchase it in the future.

Many people are now using cannabis-based products to manage skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and rosacea, with a US survey reporting that 89 per cent of respondents with a skin disorder would be willing to try it.

Cannabotech’s CEO, Mr Elchanan Shaked, commented: “Cannabotech’s Nurture solutions are formed from our unique M2CBD formula – the result of a decade’s worth of research and testing by a team of professors at the forefront of the botanical pharmaceutical sector. The solutions were designed to significantly increase the moisture level of damaged skin while reducing the patient’s stress level.

The Nurture products are a part of our preventive medicine concept aimed at strengthening the resistance of people’s immune systems by improving their sleep quality and managing their stress. High-stress levels and an unstable immune system are also known to contribute to psoriasis.

Cannabotech’s holistic concept – which combines specific treatment for medical problems with improving the patient’s quality of life – has proven to be highly effective amongst our users.”

Ayton Global Research performed its work in accordance with its Quality Management System, ISO 9001 quality standard, ESOMAR, MRS, and/or MRC guidelines.
