Hemp Point’s first foray into cosmetics harnesses the power of hemp, in harmony with a full-spectrum of active ingredients, resulting in a winning formula that respects the wisdom of nature.

The CBD topicals market is becoming increasingly saturated, especially given that the introduction of novel food regulations has seen many brands shy away from supplements and seek new opportunities in cosmetics. But with so many products out there, how do you know which ones are worth your time and money?

With its upcoming range of cannabis-based cosmetics, Hemp Point brings together expertise in cultivation and extraction, with extensive research into the properties of other natural ingredients, to create powerful natural synergies and offer an enhanced experience.

The first result from these unique formulations is the Crème de la Crème, a hemp extract-infused 1000mg CBD cream, which can be applied directly to inflamed, oily, dry or irritated skin, as well as problem areas such as joints or muscles.

As the name suggests, hemp is at the heart of this brand. The cream contains not only whole-plant hemp extract, but its award-winning hemp seed oil and hemp hydrolat, alongside the active ingredient copaiba balsam resin.

Read on to take a closer look at these.

Whole-plant hemp extract

Unlike other brands on the market, Hemp Point uses its own method of extraction (known as HFC-134a) when developing its whole-plant hemp extracts, which allows it to preserve all of the goodness of the plant.

The extraction process takes place under low pressures and at room temperature, stripping the natural oils from raw dried cannabis in a closed-loop system. The gas solvent used in the technique is inflammable and less toxic than CO2, one of the most common CBD extraction methods.

Not only is the end result rich in naturally derived cannabinoids, but also contains high levels of other compounds found in the hemp plant, such as flavonoids and terpenes, which all have their own therapeutic properties and contribute to the entourage effect.

Hemp hydrolat

Hemp hydrolat is a 100% natural, pure hydrosol, produced by distilling the leaves and stems from the plant. Hemp water combines all the nutrients and benefits found in hemp oil, including its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, as well as being especially hydrating.

This particular formulation is distilled from the same hemp genetics as the extract to ensure synergy in the finished product.

Hemp seed oil

Hemp Point’s award-winning DLG Quality hemp seed oil is made from 100% raw organic hemp seeds and is rich in essential fatty acids such as omega 3, 6 and 9. As well as their many nutritional benefits, these are thought to help reduce inflammation and improve skin elasticity, as a result, reducing wrinkles.

Copaiba balsam resin

Copaiba Balsam has been used for centuries for a variety of different purposes, including as an anti-inflammatory agent, to relieve pain and promote wound healing. It comes from copaiba trees, of which there are over 70 different species, mainly located in South and Central America. Copaiba contains a higher percentage of beta-caryophyllene terpene versus cannabis.

Much of the research on Copaiba is anecdotal, however, a number of animal studies have produced positive results on its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects. A 2018 study in patients with arthritis found it led to a decrease in pain scores when compared to coconut oil and Deep Blue essential oil.

The wisdom of nature

“This is not the usual so-called CBD cream,” said Hemp Point founder Tomas Biroscik.

“To develop these products, we relied on the wisdom of nature and a full-spectrum of active substances, cannabinoids and terpenes, which are naturally found in the hemp plant and guarantee its synergistic effect.”

He continued: “Hemp oil is known for its ability to regulate the production of sebum in all skin types, so even mixed or mature skin can benefit from it. The cream is quickly absorbed and doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin, meanwhile there are just enough oils to bind water in the skin and create a velvety soft feeling. The cream is enriched with a group of vitamins B3+B5, which together with vitamin E provide your skin with luxurious care and perfect nutrition.

“Thanks to the combination of moisturising ingredients, the cream penetrates much deeper into the layers of the skin and thus may help with muscle and joint pain, tension or spasms in the movement and nervous system.

“We have not added any synthetic preservatives, dyes, or other scents or aromas to the cream, so that you can discover with your own senses what real nature smells like.”

The cream is cruelty-free, GMO-free, dermatologically tested and packaged using sustainable and recyclable materials. All natural emulsifiers and preservatives which have been used are certified for use and meet the ECOCERT standard.
